Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN)
Loan Eligibility Requirement
- Malaysian citizen
- Pass in SPM with minimum 3 credits in any subject
- Pursuing full-time first degree course in UTAR
- Student MUST meet UTAR minimum entrance requirement for all the courses approved by National Accreditation Board (LAN) and Department of Private Education (JPS), Ministry of Education
- No other financial assistance (except bank loans)
- At the time of application, student must not be pursuing the last year of his/her course
- Student who obtained his/her PTPTN loan previously in other institution but failed to complete his/her study are only eligible to apply for the second time upon payment of all outstanding debts to PTPTN
Loan Disbursement
- Payment will be made directly to student's Public Bank account
- Payments are made twice per academic year during the 2 long semesters
- Each disbursement will be based on student GPA results of previous long semester
Repayment
- Repayment period for IPTS students:
- Science - 20 years
- Arts - 15 years
- xA 3% administrative cost per annum will be charged on the reducing balance starting from the date of repayment
- Repayment will commence 6 months after graduation or after securing a job, whichever is earlier
- Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) is appointed as a PTPTN agent to collect loan repayments through deduction of salary direct from the employer
